The Psychological Safety Implementation System is a 12-week experience built around 12 behaviours that shape how people communicate, learn & work together.

Each week takes approximately 15 minutes and follows the same structure:
StoryReflectionAction

Participants experience a short Workplace Audio Story Simulation, reflect on how the behaviour appears in the story and their own workplace, then complete a practical leadership action designed to put that learning into practice.

WEEK 9: Speaking Up

is one example of that experience, exploring what makes people choose to raise a concern, ask a question or share an idea and what leaders can do to make speaking up feel safer and more normal.

The Meeting

A routine team meeting reveals the difference between talking about psychological safety and actually experiencing it. What begins as a straightforward discussion slowly exposes the tensions hiding beneath the surface.

Reflection

1. What parts of this meeting felt familiar in your current workplace?
2. If you were in this meeting, what would you have been afraid would happen if you spoke up?
3. Where did psychological safety increase or decrease in real time?

Leadership Action

THE 10 SECOND RULE

In your next meeting, your only job is:
If you notice something that feels important but unsaid, you must act within 10 seconds.

You can do it in any form that fits the moment:

  • a question

  • a pause

  • a clarification

  • a return to a previous point

  • naming what’s happening in the room

  • supporting someone else’s unfinished thought

What matters is that you break the pattern of silence before it hardens into agreement.
